Hi Andres,
I admire your career in swimming, Orinoco !!
give me a break, I swim in clean safe pools or the beautiful waters of the
Gulf. I loved your discourse.
I am, competing in the 70 to 74 age group in
50 free and breast and 100 free and breast.
I could not miss competing in the Pan am
masters right here in my backyard.
I have been in training for about a year.
I training 5 to 6 days a week at 6.15 am to
7.45 am we do 3500 to 4000 meters in that time.
Come and visit it is beautiful here.
Sincerely,
Peter G. Laughlin, Broker Associate

Hey Folks,
Please pass this on to Peter .... Je
Je !!!
I have won the Orinoco and Caroni Rivers
Crossing ...have gold and one surrender in this competence...the rivers sent me
downstream during my second attempt .... first you have to engage the Orinoco´s
current eastwards but when you finally enter into Caroni River flow thence you
have to swim its current westward.... 3.5 to 4.5 knots currents...the maximum
feat is that you have to arrive the other shore at a point perpendicular to the
start.... you may swim diagonally as you wish or as it is needed or as you are
able to but the arrival point is only one...sometimes a current vortex turns
you around and you find yourself swimming back to the starting point...the
currents just keep you turning around...it took me one hour to cross the rivers
when I was 60..that is five years ago...
Have also won the Araya - Cumana crossing in
Venezuela...8 kms in open seas....this is in the mouth of the Gulf of Cariaco
which is exactly opposite to the Gulf of Paria (does this name rings ????
).....here again the currents are very strong......you can do this crossing in
the very early hours of the day...after 11 am this is an impossible task for a
swimmer to perform..
Not to speak of the various regattas in
swimming pools...
AHHH Vanita Vanitatis !!!!! ......I just
want to tease Peter.....I recall the regattas up at Mount wherein we competed...
Hi Peter ...
Greetings from your Trinipagnol friend
Freddy Freites....
Even Wayne O´Connor could not beat me in
crawl...butterfly is another issue...but now , who could beat Wayne in
butterfly??? laugh..laugh!!!
Peter .... I feel very proud as an Old Boy
that you are still in the fight...three hurrays for you!!
I quit swimming two years ago because of my
Rhino Sinus condition due to the many years of chlorine excess content in the
local swimming pools...I sometimes train in the ocean when I travel to La
Guayra in weekends... back in Toronto I may start swimming in the lake...no
chlorine!!! Last year I made contact with some lake swimmers over there.
By the way the Bajanpagnol Goddard OB living
in Venezuela (in Valencia) is also actually swimming for a team in that city in
central Venezuela!!!!! He also competes in the Off Shore competitions!!!
Harry ..... the Venezuelan Vikingos Masters
Swimming Club , they actually compete for the Latin american series which
sometimes take them to Florida...this was my last club...
CHEERS TO ALL OBs...

Paul,
I'm so sorry that I can't answer your
question.
However, perhaps you can give Peter a shout
and introduce yourself - let him know you'd like to come see him swim and I'm
sure he'd be only too happy to tell you the time of his race.
His phone number is: 1 (941) 356-8428
or (work) 1 (941) 364-5900 xt 224.

Any idea as to what time Peter will be
swimming?
I swam at Mount, but I was a little younger
than Peter.

Gentlemen,
Well, here's one for you:
Peter Laughlin or "Tater" of Abbey
School MSB fame, who starred in so many of our swimming regattas back in the
1960's is AT IT AGAIN.
He's registered to swim in a Master's Meet
in Sarasota, come June 2013.
Good for the old fella.
So, if anyone in the area wants to go root
for him, be advised - it's June 13th and he's the guy out in the lead.
Talking about that - I guess it's time to
call Turtle Back (for those who don't know - that's Richard Galt) out of
retirement as well.
He's too damned busy making moolah down
there in Florida.
Get on your swimming trunks, ol' man.
Peter's waiting' for ya, and I'm sure we'd
all like to know who's gonna win THIS time. It's only been 53 years since you
swam against each other.

Nigel, how are you my friend? Above is the
Facebook page link of Victor Michael How Chung
He is a Mount Boy. I know him personally.
From Arima family businesses many years ago- Chung's Restaurant, well known.
Not sure if he wants to share on the Mount
database his info. Anyhow, I joined him on the Mount Facebook group. You can
send him a message on Facebook inbox to find out.
Another friend of his and mine is Gerald
(Cho) Kong, another Mount Boy. From Arima again, family owned laundry. I was
supposed to meet him when I planned to visit you and the other boys for the
reunion in June in Toronto. Then I got the stroke. He, however, is a very
private person, and would not be interested at this time, if at all.
Lastly, I shared I would like to promote or
advertise for free your wife's cake business. Let me know your thoughts.
Will update the boys on my progress soon.
Regards, Kaz
PS. Can you send me the latest database,
was slow in getting it last time with my health situation.
